Synopsis

After her parents died during her senior year of high school, Alexa Morgan is completely alone in the world—except for her best-friend-turned-boyfriend Devin, identical twins Becca and Jessa, and Sebastian, a mysterious associate of her father’s.

Upon graduation, Alexa wants nothing more than to move on with her life, go to college, and forget all the hard and hurtful things from her tragic past. But when her first love, Ethan, shows up at her graduation—it kicks off a whirlwind of events that threatens the good and stable things she’s worked so hard to achieve.

Ethan and Alexa shared one night of passion before he disappeared, leaving her bewildered and confused. But now he’s back, declaring that he loves her and that the only reason he left was to protect her from his malicious stepmother, Olivia.

In her heart, Alexa knows she loves Devin, but her attraction to Ethan is so strong she can’t help but be drawn in by their shared chemistry. Meanwhile, the threat of Olivia lurks around the edges, casting a menacing shadow over everything and everyone Alexa loves.

Prologue

Ethan

I haven’t been in California since October. It has been nearly eight months since the night I left my Alexa with only a note on the pillow. I never thought I would or could miss anyone but damn, I fucking miss that woman. I miss the sound of her voice when she would say my name, her honey eyes innocently giving away her desire for me, the way her sexy curves would meld into my body when I held her tight against me, her full soft lips brushing against mine, her shy smile, and the way she would blush whenever she would get embarrassed, which was often. Motherfucker, my dick is hard again just thinking about her. I’ve taken cold showers and jerked off more times than a pimpled-faced teenage boy going through puberty at just the thought of her over the past several months. I mean, sure I fucked a few of the more than willing females from the bars and clubs I frequented but all I thought about while my dick was in some random chick was Alexa. Oh, and just for the record, it never ends well when you call a girl by the wrong name when you’re balls deep, coming inside her. Alexa was the only woman I wanted but couldn’t have thanks to Olivia. Ha! How about that? The mere thought of that whacked out bitch calmed my dick right down.
I was so fuckin’ happy when my bat-shit crazy stepmom called off her guard dog that she had following me for a couple of months after I arrived in Seattle. However, she never relented on her constant reminders that the men in her life were hers and her alone. She knows I have feelings for Alexa. Even when I denied there was any truth to her assumption she assured me that if I tried to contact Alexa in any way, she would make certain Alexa paid the price. Olivia never said what exactly would happen but considering the shit she put my dead stepbrother through while he was alive and then my own hell after Jordan killed himself; I wasn’t going to give Olivia any reason to harm Alexa. But something deep down inside me couldn’t let my Alexa forget me either. So the only chance I did take was the burner phones I purchased periodically to send a single text as a little reminder that she is mine, always.
Here we are, two weeks before Alexa graduates high school and the renovations on the new Northwest office for my father’s company Gage Real Estate Development are complete. This is why I’m driving down a long desolate stretch of Interstate 5 with my radio blasting some techno shit and a sixteen-ounce Red Bull in my drink holder just after two in the morning to keep me awake. All I want is to get home and be close to her, the woman who dominates my every thought twenty-four seven. Words could not explain how fucking thrilled I am that Olivia and my father have left on vacation for a couple of months so I don’t have to deal with either of them in person. Not to mention that I don’t think the amount of time I will have will be long enough to get Alexa out of my system before I have to leave again. Come to think of it, I know for certain I will never get enough of her. Somehow she has etched her way under my skin and burrowed into my heart. I know she has plans to attend Stanford after graduation but some way; somehow, I will have to persuade her to leave with me this time. I can protect her, take care of her, and keep her safe and far away from Olivia.
After a few hours lost in my thoughts I finally pull down the street towards my house and my headlights flash to something on Alexa’s front lawn. As I get near and turn off my lights I see the “SOLD” sign. My stomach knots up, my palms begin to sweat and dread hits me like a freight train as I stare at the sign. Could my thoughts be more contradicting than they are right in this moment? I know I hoped she would move away once she graduated but now that I see the sign I don’t like the reality of it. I still plan on trying to convince her to leave with me but that likelihood of her actually agreeing is not in my favor. She worked hard to get into Stanford and I know she wouldn’t want to let her deceased parents down. So if I can’t persuade her to join me then I won’t get to enjoy watching her out on her balcony like I used to. That damned balcony is where I watched her turn from cute, gawky preteen into a gorgeous woman. She made waking up and going to bed bearable in my nightmare of a home.
I push the button on my garage door opener and park inside the garage for a change. I don’t want her to know that I’m home yet and I need sleep before I see her. I should be well rested by the time she gets home from school tomorrow with every intention to surprise her then. Right now a hot shower and my bed is what I settle for.

Alexa Crushed [1]

**ONLY .99!**

Alexa Morgan lost her mother when she was two. At eighteen, her father and stepmother died when a devastating earthquake hit the Bay Area. Only one person has remained a constant in her life: Devin.

Devin has been Alexa’s best friend since childhood. The two are inseparable—or they were until Devin declared his love for her at sixteen. When Alexa can offer him only friendship in return, Devin retreats, brokenhearted.

Alexa, on the other hand, longs for Ethan, the boy next door. Four years older than her, and with an ever-changing roster of girlfriends, Ethan is everything Devin isn’t: wild, sensual, and unpredictable.

In the aftermath of the deadly earthquake, Ethan makes his move on Alexa, who reciprocates in a confused whirl of grief and desire. When Ethan leaves town the next day, Devin comes back into Alexa’s life, offering support and expecting nothing in return.

Alexa begins to see the advantages of Devin’s quiet, stable love. Can she get past the friendship hang-up while trying to forget bad boy Ethan? It’s a choice that changes her life forever.
